Was out today to repair several YORK D1HG240N24046KFA package gas units. Two of them I had to replace the gas valves that had finally failed, these units were started up in 2002 so, I'm not real surprised there.
Where I am surprised is, both gas valves I put into these units have failed straight out of the box. I also have one of these valves in a different unit that has failed the same as the two new ones today and I installed it last winter.
The old ones were Model 36C68, Type 466. The new ones are 36H32, Type 466. Both models are rated for 335K btu.
The problem I have is the pilot valve will energize but, there is absolutely no gas flow to the pilot track. I had put my manometer into the pilot outlet to set the pilot pressure, being new valves and all, and had no gas flow whatsoever.
I tried adjusting the pilot pressure at the valve regulator but, no go, no pressure at all.
Has anyone else experienced this? This is the first time I have ever run across this problem and I'm not sure what is going on. I'm wondering if White-Rogers has had a run of faulty valves and they don't know it yet or, is it something else?
Any insight will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Y'all!
